Summer Session 1

Summer Comic Camp

A hands-on summer camp where students explore storytelling through comics. Campers will design original characters, create comic covers, build story sequences using panels, and add dialogue, sound effects, and color to bring their comics to life. Throughout the week, students will learn comic art techniques while creating their own original comic artwork to take home.

Grades: Kindergarten–6th

Time: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Cost: $345 per student (4th of July Prorated Rate)

Meet the instructor! Angelo C. Petullo

I’ve always loved comics and cartoons, and that passion led me to a career in art. As a freelance illustrator, I’ve worked on children’s books, comics, and personal projects. I’m also an art teacher in the Bloomfield School District with over five years of classroom experience. Beyond teaching, I have 20 years of experience working with youth through YMCA programs and art enrichment classes at One River School of Art and Design.

My goal is to help students build creativity and confidence through art. I live in West Caldwell, NJ, with my wife, our two sons, and two rescue dogs.
